1. Open the chat in WhatsApp.
2. Tap the person's name at the top.
3. Scroll down and tap Export chat.
4. Choose Without media. It is faster, and Cringy only needs the text.
5. Tap Save to Files and pick a folder.
6. Open Cringy and pick the file you just saved (a .zip or .txt file).

The menu names can be a little different depending on your phone and WhatsApp version.

• Make sure you exported the chat as text, not a photo, a screenshot or a WhatsApp backup.
• Pick a one-on-one chat. Cringy reads chats between two people only, for now.
• Try exporting again. If it still fails, email us the error you see (please do not send us the chat).

If you reinstalled Cringy or changed phones, your subscription is still linked to your store account.

1. Sign in to the same Apple ID (iPhone) or Google account (Android) you used to buy.
2. Open Cringy and go to the subscription screen.
3. Tap Restore purchases.

If it does not work, email us with the device id from Settings > Device ID and the date of your purchase.

Cancel at least 24 hours before the end of your current period to avoid the next charge. You keep access until the period ends. Deleting the app does not cancel the subscription.

Apple and Google handle all payments, so they decide on refunds.

• iPhone: go to reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in, and choose the Cringy purchase.
• Android: open your Google Play order history, find the Cringy purchase, and ask for a refund there.

On your phone: uninstall Cringy. This removes the app's data on your phone, including your device id and any temporary copy of a chat file.

On our servers:

1. Open Cringy and go to Settings > Device ID. Copy the id.
2. Email support@cringy.io with the subject "Delete my data" and paste the device id.
3. We delete the data linked to that device id within 30 days and email you when it is done.

This covers your device record, usage events and the IP address log. We may keep purchase records where the law requires it (for example for tax), or data needed for an open payment dispute. AI results in our cache are not linked to your device id and are deleted automatically 180 days after their last use. Do this before you uninstall, because the device id is lost when the app is removed. To stop payments, also cancel your subscription in the App Store or Google Play.

No. Your chat file is read on your phone and the stats are made on your phone. To write the AI report, the app sends a selection of text messages (links, emails and phone numbers removed) and the stats to our server, which passes them to an AI provider. We do not save those messages. The Privacy Policy explains it in detail.

The numbers come from your export file. The AI part is made for fun and can be wrong. It can miss jokes, slang and context. Please do not make big decisions based only on it.
